Nipsey Hussle’s bodyguard is retiring following the rapper’s shooting death.
In a heartfelt Instagram post Tuesday, J Roc announced that he’s exiting the security business for good, days after Hussle was gunned down outside of his South Los Angeles boutique, The Marathon Clothing.
“I’m done with all this (expletive) I retire from being a bodyguard,” he captioned a series of pictures of himself guarding the rapper. “I love you HUSSLE THA GREAT.”
Hussle’s Atlantic Records representative, Brittany Bell, confirmed to USA TODAY that J Roc was the rapper’s bodyguard. He goes by the Instagram name @jrocthebodyguard, referring to himself as Hussle’s “shadow” in his bio.
He wasn’t with Hussle when the shooting took place on March 31, but wrote that, “I wish I was there, I would switch places with you any day.”
